“DizzyFIX MD” app for the iPhone

DizzyFIX MD for the iPhoneMicromedics Inc, a medical device manufacturer and exhibitor at the Combined Otolaryngology Spring Meeting (COSM) in Las Vegas will be featuring the new DizzyFIX MD iPhone app at their booth #509 in the Bally’s Event Center during the meeting. Developed by Clearwater Clinical of Canada, the “DizzyFIX” iPhone app will give doctors the ability to treat a medical condition with a cell phone – for the first time.

The new iPhone app specifically treats Vertigo caused by BPPV (Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo). This problem affects about 1 out of 10 people over the age of 60 and can be debilitating for those who have it. BPPV is caused by the movement of calcium crystals known as Otoconia to other parts of the ear. This movement of Otoconia eventually results in the sensation of vertigo.
