Turn-based strategy games are getting popular every now and then considering their addictive nature and thought provoking qualities. But every now and then, there comes along a more fantastic game and that is developed by Hexage.net.

In Everland, the story revolves around the plot of evil spirits taking control of animals, and the brave plethora of creatures that must come together to stop the evil and cleanse their possessed brethren. While the story may seem a little bit juvenile and out of the scene considering the fact that you’ll be using macho heroes, vehicular combat and futuristic weaponry. It blends nicely into the game and serves as much creative.

In Everland you and your opponent take turns in placing animals on a hexagonal board. Each animal has a certain amount of life and attack points but can only attack out on certain sides of the field. It is much the same as those found in popular turn based strategy games.

Each species have varying amounts of life and attack points as well as a unique special ability. For example an intimidating tiger is able to reduce attack points of its enemy animals. In order to complete a stage you must have 50% board possession with your creatures.

Everlands is a great game paying tribute to strategy games and casual game principles making it a blast to play. Everlands is a must own game if you’re a lover for strategy games or just have the desire to have a great game.

The rumors are true and still the white iPhone 4 is nowhere to be found. We’ve been tracking the iPhone way back when it hit the headlines on June.  And now, Apple has one big announcement to make and that is the white iPhone 4 won’t be on sale until spring of 2011.

“Were sorry to disappoint customers waiting for the white iPhone yet again, but we’ve decided to delay its release until this spring.”, quoted from Apple.

The company has had difficult time making the white model of the iPhone 4. It released the black version of the smartphone in June.

The news broke just this morning that Apple had released an updated version of the iPhone. Introduced alongside the black iPhone 4 at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference in early June, the white model was soon to be pushed back to a late July launch. But when the date approached to its futility, Apple again decided to delayed the release date to later this year seemingly giving the company plenty of time to work on issues with production of the white model.  Apparently the company still is struggling on with the white model considering it is a tough challenge to meet customer demands and satisfaction.

The delays however are still not confirmed by Apple saying that the device proved to be “more challenging to manufacture than expected.” Other rumors that have surface out have point to issues with color matching between the device’s body and home button or the light from the backlight leaking around.

What was I Scared of? for iPhone and iPadEncinitas, CA(PRWeb)- Oceanhouse Media, Inc. announced the release of two new Halloween themed eBooks for the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. The classic Dr. Seuss short-story What was I Scared of? is now available on the App Store for only $1.99. And one of the all-time best selling children’s Halloween books, The Legend of Spookley the Square Pumpkin by Joe Troiano, is now available as an eBook for only $2.99. Both universal apps can be used on the iPad and iPhone for no additional charge. These apps also include special high-resolution graphics for the iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4G Retina displays.

What was I Scared of? was authored in 1961 by Theodor Seuss Geisel, better known as the beloved Dr. Seuss. Delivering a timeless message about fear and acceptance, the tale begins with a character who repeatedly meets up with an empty pair of pale-green pants. He is initially afraid of the pants, which are able to stand on their own despite the lack of a wearer. However, when he screams for help and the pants also start to cry, he realizes that “They were just as scared as I!” Eventually, the empty pants and the main character choose to no longer be in fear of one another and become good friends.

In The Legend of Spookley the Square Pumpkin, where “the only good pumpkins are round pumpkins,” Spookley is shunned until a mighty storm threatens to destroy the entire patch. As the storm rages, Spookley realizes “it’s fine to be round while the weather is fair, but there are times it’s better to be a square.” Sometimes being different can save the day! Originally published in 2001, The Legend of Spookley the Square Pumpkin has sold over a million copies to date, and has served as the basis for a Spookley the Square Pumpkin movie that has been shown every year since 2004 in movie theaters across the country and on national television networks, including both Nickelodeon and the Disney Channel. “We are delighted with the new, interactive version of Spookley on the App Store,” said Joe Troiano, author of The Legend of Spookley the Square Pumpkin. “And we are impressed with the convenient read-aloud and vocabulary-learning features that Oceanhouse Media’s technology provides.”

Both eBooks combine the beautiful artwork from the original print books with innovative features that promote reading in kids, including highlighted picture / word associations, professional narration and custom background audio.

“In anticipation of Halloween, we are excited to bring both of these perennial holiday favorites to life as eBooks for the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch,” said Michel Kripalani, President of Oceanhouse Media. “These apps provide both entertainment and educational value to children in the form of fun, interactive experiences for play and learning.”

Oceanhouse Media, creators of the award-winning Dr. Seuss and Hay House apps, have recently seen seven of their Dr. Seuss and Berenstain Bears eBooks reach the #1 rank for paid books in the App Store.

The Apple iPhone may be the most innovative mobile device in the world not only being the most popular with a built in Global Position System or GPS which can exactly show you where you are on the map. The function of the Apple iPhone allows you to navigate practically anywhere in the world all you need is a simple program to navigate where you want to go. Currently there are many GPS navigation applications for the iPhone out there and definitely MapQuest 4 mobile is one serious app for all your map finding woes.

The first to offer voice guidance was Google Maps Navigation but now MapQuest 4 Mobile iPhone now offers basic voice guidance. With the introduction of the new voice guidance it now lessens the interaction with maps. However Map Quest has added a new twist to their application by the new feature known as twin tap gesture. In order for a user to zoom in and out more easily, tapping it two times quickly navigates the map to move forward or backward easily.  For users who are looking for longer lasting battery life, the app has an added feature that ensures additional energy  saving modes for the road warrior on the go.

Believe it or not, iPad users can still take full advantage of the Map Question 4 mobile even without cellular data connection. The application uses Wi-Fi connection to easily determine location based on triangulation. Naturally it is less reliable than the tradional GPS.

SpongeBob Marbles and Slides Review

Posted by jwrite under iPad, iPad Apps, iPhone Apps, iPhones on Tuesday Oct 19, 2010

For those of you who love SpongeBob then the new game might get you wet and slippery especially made of the iPhone and SpongeBob-Marbles-and-Slides-225x300the iPad. Surprisingly a game tied to a license game like SpongeBob are often being weighing down by the numerous flaws and development.  Luckily Spongbob Marbles and Slides surpass this sort of pitfall and managed to prove to be a good game.

In SpongeBob Marbles and Slides players are given a game board with some marbles sporting to the many different SpongeBob characters, a pipe of ink and some few obstacles with a goal at the end. The objective of the game is simple, you have to move the marbles to the goal and sometimes all of them set a number. The marbles that fall under the law of gravity and some other device tilting mechanism, proves to be quite challenging, the players job is to guide those marbles to the correct path and into the pipe.

SpongeBob Marbles and Slide works well with the first 60 levels and more and promises toad more packs later on that introduces new mechanics that will add to the fun and creativity of the game.  The art direction with the familiar graphics like those found in the television series is perfectly seen in the game. The pitch design works perfectly that brings experience to life with well illustrated menus, character design and yes even fantastic buttons as well.  Although the iPad version is as big as it gets but still it is fun to play even on a small screen like the iPhone.
