laststandstan-e1299805930848-300x200 When it comes to gaming devices no one does it better than Apple. With the much popularity of the iOS platform the iPhone has certainly made its name in the handheld gaming era. The one great challenge that would likely make games would be the limitations of the device. LastStandStan is a game that makes wonders playing in an iOS device. When you first start the game, you start of in a spacecraft in top down view, reminding you off the old Reagan-era top view shooters like Asteroid. By a simple tap on the screen your space shuttle will fire its weapon on the direction on which you are aiming. Tap the ship and you get to select an armament of weapons, shields and power-ups for your spacecraft. The game is pretty much cartoonish in terms of graphics but it is still fun to play with considering the game utilizes the iPhone’s gaming capacity. The game is illuminated with bright twinkling things with solid fields of color and hues. Each weapon is unique having its own set of fireworks to display with and unique enemy ship explosions making the game more entertaining and pleasure to kill boredom. The only drawback to the game would be the monotonous gameplay it has to offer. While the cool explosions and animations are good moving the ship once in a while would make it seem too repetitive. LastStandStan is still a fun game worth playing for casual gamers who would love retro-style game like Asteroids.

It’s not too hard to notice the numerous myriad of iPhone apps that meant to establish communication from one person to another. Valentine’s Day may seem to be over but love is still in the air and well alive in the App store. One unique feature that still has the spotlight on is Country Living Treemail. This is not treemail from the reality t.v show Survivor but the equivalent of having someone’s initial on the trunk of the tree.

Country Living Treemail lets you select all different types of tree bark and blades so that you can carve small, or short messages on a virtual tree and share it off with your friends either email, Facebook and Twitter. There is also a short collection of signs and symbols like hearts, arrows, and the like that function as stamps, and can be resized on your tree carving. Customization can be done with the tips of your finger.

Country Living Treemail is not difficult to use, it saves you from getting your pocket knife out and carving your own tree bark. If mistakes can be done, users can easily navigate back to the tools menu and selecting the erase button to finish of your carving.

Overall, tree mail is not your ordinary type of messaging system but consider it as a unique way in storing and backing up your messages. It is a creative and clever way for iPhone users to find ways to communicate and share their thoughts through the ideas of others.

Slice Your Way with Food Processing

Posted by jwrite under iPhone Accessories, iPhone Apps, iPhone News, iPhones on Friday Feb 25, 2011

IMG_1657-642x428

So for people who just can’t seem to stop on craving with Fruit Ninja, well you’re in for another treat. Food Processing published from Chillingo is a game similar to Fruit Ninja but consider the fruits being sliced through a conveyor belt.

The game offers six types of food for you to process and each one requires a different type of mechanic to process properly. Each food requires you to process differently. These include pea pods, corn, eggplants, and pumpkins just to name a few. For example, eggplants require a simple tap and a slice to get the job done.

There are different objectives for each fruit, and you need first to think on what second action you would wish to perform. The conveyor belt keeps coming with random assortment of food and you’ll never know what’s next in line. Every few seconds the speed goes faster making it quite challenging while processing and keeping the pace all at the same time.

You are rated by how you processed food and how well you did with the slicing and munching. If you process badly like unequal pieces you won’t be able to get a perfect score. The only flaw about this game would be the controls. You have to be extra careful in slicing since the game has a tough time in recognizing rapid slicing actions.

Overall Food Processing is a great game to simulate your love for action arcade games. The game has great visuals of every fruit and vegetable you slice and it will never bore you down to the bone.
