rocket-home-300x200

It’s seems like everyone is trying to dethrone the reigning physics games of all time Angry Birds. Maybe it’s because we like to shoot flying birds out from a slingshot or yet the gameplay is just too addictive not to stop.

Rocket Home, a game from Tomatillo is similar that brought the iPhone the limelight. A simple physics game shooting the so called “Gluons” which are yellow blobs from another distant planet trying to escape and board a rocket bound for home. Rocket Hine features over 60 different puzzle like levels that can be overcome with the creation of lines and other objects.

Gameplay is straight forward and simple with players have access to different various shaped rocks, bombs, and other items that Gluons can interact with. The object is simple to create a path from the start of each level to the end where the rocket awaits. Sometimes it is necessary to create ramps and bridge or any other aids for critters to land and make it. The game is time pressured with you playing against the 2-minute time limit and save a number of creatures in order to advance to the next level.

The game is poorly made with just about the average music, gameplay, puzzle, storyline and music. Consider it as a game made entirely of loose budget. For players who love to build with physic based games can enjoy the construction it can get with Rocket Home. It’s an inexpensive game with over 60 different levels to play with.

flyinghamster-e1295333059818-300x200

Well for animal lovers who love seeing cute cuddly pets then Flying Hamster manages it ways to be adorable yet entertaining for the iPhone. It’s not your ordinary arcade game that is light and silly but it’s also a fast-paced action game that makes it challenging and hard to put down after playing a few rounds or two.

Flying Hamsters can be categorized as a horizontal shooter game which simply means players control a flying object and shoot projectiles at enemies as they move along through left and right.  As a horizontal shooter type of game, players get to control a flying hamster and the object is to shoot things like bees and target them to hit cartoon penguins and genetically morphed flowers.

There are six levels of increasing difficulty, at first you’ll be navigating a forest and by the time you blast your way through ancient Egypt you’ll be on the edge of your seat.  The graphics are neatly set in cartoonish 2D.  The images were crisp and bright making it wonderful to be played on an iPhone 3Gs. The game has a Japanese feel into it with the animals being downright cute all the time.

Flying Hamster is a well classical horizontal game that live up to its name. Older players will be surprised how they will be reminded of Reagan era arcade games and younger players might just think this game to be synonymous to fun. Overall Flying Hamsters is recommended for just about anyone who owns an iPhone or iPod Touch.
