Austin, TX, May 01, 2012 –(PR.com)– A new App from Cuptakes™ has been released. Users have been continually asking for more from Cuptakes, and specifically, a bit more user customization. Cuptakes Frames was conceived with the idea of taking the users best photos and implementing them into Frames that can be shared or applied to their iPhone or iPod touch. The App Store is overflowing with the same collage and filter apps, and they think it’s time to do something more. Cuptakes Frames provides beautiful custom frames that they can be shared, applied, and enjoyed.

Notable features include:

- New Designs updated Monthly
- Matches the Original Cuptakes Themes
- Over 180 exclusive designs at Launch
- Retina 960×640 Designs
- Categories and Faves for ease of use
- Share Your Photo Frames Feature

“As a graphic designer I’ve always wanted to have a more girly selection of photo frames for my iPhone. Unfortunately, most of what is available are the same collage, editing, and filter apps. I say . . . It’s time for a change! With that, is Cuptakes Frames,” said Lauren, graphic designer behind Cuptakes and Restored 316 Designs.

Users can download the Cuptakes Application in any country where an iTunes Store is available.

This is the first version of Cuptakes Frames titled version 1.0, and subsequent versions are planned to follow with the idea to design and launch additional custom frames, and indefinite updates as needed.

The app retails for $1.99 in the US app store and is compatible with the iPhone and the iPod touch.

Apple and Samsung to sit down for mediation

Posted by admin under iPad on Monday Apr 30, 2012

Apple and Samsung have been going at it seemingly forever in the battle of ‘who infringed who’s patent.’ Recently, both companies have expressed an interest in settling their differences by way of mediation, which is set to begin on May 21 and 22. In this mediation, both tech giants are to discuss possible settlements to their IP differences, and to draw up for the judge presiding over it “a candid evaluation of the parties’ likelihood of prevailing on the claims and defenses.”

Even though talks are in development at this time, it doesn’t guarantee discussions will result in a settlement between the two. Tim Cook has said that he dislikes litigation, but he won’t stand for what Apple has called “slavish” design copying orchestrated by Samsung.

After Apple’s rockstar second quarter, which had the Cupertino-based company selling over 35 million iPhones and 12 million iPads during the quarter, Tim Cook during Apple’s earnings call said, “I’ve always hated litigation, and I continue to hate it.” He also added “We just want people to invent their own stuff. And so if we could get to some kind of arrangement where we could be assured that’s the case and a fair settlement on the stuff that’s occurred, I would highly prefer to settle versus battle. But the key thing is that it’s very important that Apple not become the developer for the world. We need people to invent their own stuff.”

Judging the quote, Tim Cook seems like any other reasonable dude who wants to make money and not to have to worry about copycats. That being said, it wouldn’t be at all surprising if talks de-escalate, lets find out what happens at the end of May.

iOwl Launch for iPhone

Posted by admin under Apple News on Monday Apr 30, 2012

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain, April 29, 2012 –(PR.com)– iOwl is an iPhone app that creates and organizes complex lists. It’s perfect for any users wanting to jot things down quickly and keep track of many items across multiple categories over long periods of time.

The app’s simplicity and ease of use is what makes iOwl stand out. Lists are organized into two types: normal and task. Normal lists are where users would write down their grocery lists. Task lists are what makes the application truly shine. Since the user is able to mark tasks off as either “pending” or “complete” it makes organization incredibly easy. Users are also able to connect pictures to the application. If a user wants to refer to a specific item that picture can really come in handy.

Version 2.0 will be released shortly and will come with enhancements such as iCloud syncing.

There are many different ways iOwl can be used. If out shopping a user can take a photo of an item they want to purchase and then enter information such as the price and what store they found it in. International students and travellers will no doubt appreciate being able to store words and phrases they will later need access to.

Keeping your groceries and daily to-do lists are a given but there are plenty of other exciting possibilities. What movies will be coming out this summer? What prescription drugs are you currently taking? If a user is in a bookstore they’ll be able to flip to their unread book list and quickly see what books they should buy.

Every day we struggle to keep the information in our lives straight. Between work and daily tasks things are a little hectic. With the launch of iOwl life is certain to be easier.

By using iOwl people will be able to carry their critical information with them anywhere while having the ability to update it. No more messy scribbling or scratching things out.

Finally, a little bit of simplicity in this crazy world. It’s about time.
