Vancouver, WA, February 02, 2012 –(PR.com)– Julian Stewart CEO of Greenstone Games announced an upcoming release of the company’s new app, Provervbidioms based on the 1975 painting by T.E. Breitenbach.

The painting later became a popular poster that has intrigued hundreds of thousands of viewers since 1980. The unique and fascinating poster has been featured on TV, in song, several books, calendars, jigsaw puzzles and more. Now it is coming to the app age with more features than ever before.

Proverbidioms is used extensively in over 100 countries across the globe by several organizations, as a device for teaching advanced English comprehension to foreign students.

“This poster makes learning proverbs and idioms fun,” said Lynn Smith of Vancouver WA, “it illustrates the irony of truisms. It’s hilarious.” Indeed, our everyday sayings, when taken literally, stimulate humorous, eye-opening images: imagine a real case of “butterflies in the stomach,” or a “rat race!”

There are hundreds of these axioms depicted in the poster and the upcoming release of the app has educators excited and fans of T.E Breitenbach anxious to download it. There are hundreds of humorous and intriguing illustrated proverbs and idioms to keep viewers engaged.

The app is still in beta stage and no set release date has been announced although it is expected in mid-February. Interested parties are invited to keep informed from the Greenstone Games Website.

Macworld | iWorld Votes for Top Business iPad App of the Year

Posted by admin under Apple News on Monday Jan 30, 2012

San Francisco, CA, January 30, 2012 –(PR.com)– As technology for iPads and iPhones becomes more sophisticated and user-friendly, business owners are discovering the countless benefits of using iPad apps to assist in the operation of their business. iPad Biz Apps, an online hub for the best business iPad apps offered, has been running a competition based on consumer votes for the winner of the Business iPad App of the Year Award. Utilizing the initial feedback from iPad business app users, they narrowed the list down to the top five business apps of 2011: DocuSign, Drop Box, HighRise, Revel Systems iPad POS, and Square.

The arrival of the Macworld ? iWorld Fan Event in San Francisco this weekend gave thousands of Apple lovers and iPad users the opportunity to cast their votes to finalize the competition hosted by iPad Biz Apps. Attendees looked at the iPad business apps and used the following criteria while placing their votes:

· Which is the most useful business app?
· How many functions does the app help a business with?
· How many users have downloaded and are currently using the app?
· Which app has the simplest UI?
· Which app has the best support for customers?

Participation in the contest was great. It was a last-minute decision to allow attendees at the Macworld ? iWorld event to choose the winner and it turned out to be an invaluable experience, as users were able to interact with each iPad business app and provide feedback to representatives of iPad Biz Apps in real time. This interaction provided unique insight into what app users are looking for – and what they don’t want to see – when choosing an app for their business.

It was interesting to find out that only two out of the top five apps offered a phone number on their website. While both picked up the phone – which is a plus – one of them asked for money to complete the call. Many of the Macworld | iWorld attendees commented on the fact

Bibliotastic Users Prefer Apple’s iPad to Amazon’s Fire

Posted by admin under Apple News on Friday Jan 27, 2012

London, United Kingdom, January 26, 2012 –(PR.com)– Amazon grabbed the headlines when it launched its Fire tablet last September principally because of its low cost versus similar devices. However, the device has caused some controversy given the extent to which users are locked in to a proprietary Amazon environment that prevents them from loading applications from Google’s Android market and instead pushes Amazon apps and services at them.

Bibliotastic co-founder Bernard Gerard notes, “Android tablets like Samsung’s Galaxy Tab are fantastic portable computing devices – like smartphones on steroids. But they pack in a lot of the latest technology which makes them expensive pieces of hardware. Amazon on the other hand can afford to sell the hardware at a loss, much as it has done with the Kindle, in the hope of making more profits as a retailer of content – books, movies, apps, etc. It is really a bit like walking round with an Amazon cash register – they already have your credit card details and they are ready to ring the till. In many respects this is similar to the Apple approach. However, Apple’s iPad is a much more powerful computing device and it has a much greater choice of apps. As our bibliotastic user survey shows, consumers are still prepared to pay a premium for Apple products.”

Bibliotastic survey: Which tablet would you prefer?
· Apple iPad 2 (from $499) 41%
· Amazon Fire ($199) 27%
· Samsung Galaxy Tab (from $469) 21%
· Zantac (for gadget indigestion; from $0.30) 11%

The survey was concluded in January 2012 and involved 187 participants. Details can be found here: http://www.bibliotastic.com/content/poll/tablets

Posted by admin under Apple News on Thursday Jan 26, 2012

Wireless and mobile broadband network enabled devices allow a portable workstation that can be used to conduct business anywhere. The weight of the tablet bests many laptops. The iPad, Sony Tablet S, and the Samsung Galaxy all weigh in at 1.3 lbs. With over 2,300 business apps in the app store via iTunes, and over 140,000 for iPad overall, tablets are the future for professionals and business.

“There’s no doubt that the tablet computer is here to stay, even more so when it comes to keeping business professionals productive on the move,” writes Joe Linford for Business Review USA, “Consumers are often attracted to a tablet’s hardware, and for this, the options are pretty much unlimited now that new models come in all shapes, sizes and operating system variations.”
