Apple’s new T.V

Posted by gracelim under iPad, iPad Accessories, iPhone Accessories, iPhone Apps, iPhone News, iPhones, Utility Apps on Thursday Aug 12, 2010

Itv

There has been news of an updated Apple TV recently which will head to market just a few months ago.  A trusted source affirmed that they will be releasing a $99 version of the set top box. This is a similarly sized and packed with internals akin to that of the iPhone 4 (A4 CPU, 16GB of flash storage), and will introduce new iTunes streaming services the box could take advantage of.  Other information on the projects was not very good. The box won’t be capable of handling 1080i or 1080p video. In its place it will only push out 720p clips. Stories has been circulating and for much inside discussion, that this has something to do with the A4′s inability to crank on higher resolution content.  In addition, the device will be getting apps and apparently an App Store entry, though it’s uncertain if there will be cross-pollination between iPad and iPhone / iPod touch offerings and new Apple TV applications.

Apple will be officially changing the name of the device to iTV.  Fascinatingly, that was the name of the Apple TV when it was originally announced by the company. Apple certainly has been creating a lot of innovations for their items to reach to its consumers. It’s certainly is not new for Apple to be creating this kind of device since it has been one of the most famous brand there is.

BluWave iPhone Application

Posted by admin under iPhone Apps on Tuesday Aug 25, 2009

BluWave iPhone ApplicationAs millions of college students head off to school, they’re forced to trade carefree summer routines for rigorous winter class schedules, and this trade-off eventually leads to exhaustion. A recent study published in the Journal of Adolescent Health found that only 30% of college students get enough sleep.

Part of this trend is due to the stress of school life, triggering procrastination and late night cramming sessions. While students try to pack their class schedules and party time into one extreme day, their sleep patterns become disturbed. This cycle depletes physical energy and mental alertness, but have no fear — there’s an app for that.

Launched this week by GSC Products, BluWave uses therapeutic blue light to invigorate the mind and body by fooling the biological clock to help over-tired college students beat the “Study Fatigue Blues”. The BluWave iPhone app uses light emitting diode (LED) technology to deliver an adjustable panel of blue light through the screens of iPhones and iPods. BluWave also features an audio mode with relaxing natural sounds including ocean, rain, nature, waterfalls and wind.

BluWave is presently available for the iPhone and iPod Touch for $1.99 at the iTunes App Store. Promotional downloads are available for qualified media and reviewers upon request.

iPhone users can now protect sensitive core components of their iPhone devices, including personal and business contact information. Due to the lack of inherent encryption capabilities on most iPhones and the exposed weaknesses of iPhone 3GS encryption, personal contact information can easily be accessed from a lost, stolen or compromised device.

SMobile Systems‘ ContactCrypt 1.6 is now available on the iTunes App Store. The software application is built to encrypt sensitive personal and business data including contact names, home addresses, account numbers, phone numbers, e-mail addresses and other critical data stored in the Contacts section of the iPhone. While other iPhone App Store encryption applications simply provide a vault mechanism to store user passwords, ContactCrypt is the first, third-party security application on the App Store to specifically protect and encrypt core components of the iPhone operating system itself.

With the recent release of iPhone encryption for 3GS devices proven to be easily bypassed by numerous security experts, the release of ContactCrypt has become all the more critical.
