With so many people these days being quite particular about their health and weight, all the available help they can get ranging from advice and mobile devices will be highly appreciated. And knowing the ton of people who are using the iPhone or the Blackberry smartphones, here is a handy app to have the next time you go out shopping and want to analyze the nutritional facts of certain products.
FoodGauge takes four factors into consideration: fat, carbohydrates, fiber and protein. By simply entering this information into the application from the back of any nutrition label, FoodGauge provides a numerical score, ranked from five to one, that helps you choose which foods will assist with weight loss.
Fruits, veggies and lean meats (foods that are healthy and keep you full) will rank a four or five and can be consumed relatively guilt-free. Food that scores a two or one is generally full of sugar, butters and oils (empty calories that cause you to desire more empty calories) and should be eaten sparingly.
The FoodGauge app for iPhone users is now available at the Apple iTunes store for only $0.99. For Blackberry users, it is available at the Blackberry App World for $2.99.
