Apple to make professional version of the iPhone 5?
Posted by admin under iPhone News on Tuesday May 10, 2011There has been a great deal of speculation concerning the incredibly popular iPhone in recent weeks; with the production and launch of the latest model, the iPhone 5, there are rumours circulating that Apple could be going in a slightly different direction with their latest endeavour…
The latest information comes straight from the iPhone Download Blog, who have reported that Apple are sourcing similar components for different models of their latest product, which they believe indicates that Apple are planning to release a ‘professional’ version of the iPhone.
This would follow on from Apple’s marketing plan for many of their other products, most notably the Macintosh personal computer which is available in both standard and professional versions – the professional version of the Macbook incorporates the most cutting-edge components that are available to buy.
This is not the first time that there has been speculation over different tiers of models within the iPhone range; it is thought that Apple could deploy a strategy similar to this in order to pull back some of the mid-range smartphone market, that has come to dominated by Google’s Android operating system within the last few months.
These latest rumours have been strongly refuted by faithful iPhone owners, who have argued that the main selling-point behind the device is its exclusive, high-end appeal; many people view the iPhone as the best smartphone on the market – something that a multi-tiered handset system could well ruin.
Despite the objections, there seems to be collaborative evidence for the different tiers of iPhone handset, as Sony’s CEO Howard Stringer has recently claimed that his company has been supplying their ‘best cameras’ to Apple.
In spite of all the rumours, one thing is for certain: smartphone users around the world will be keeping a keen eye on Apple’s latest product launch…
