Is this the iPhone 5?

Posted by admin under iPhone News on Friday Jul 29, 2011

With the next iPhone 5 potentially just a few weeks away, 9to5Mac has stumbled upon a picture which is believes may be the next iPhone out in the wild.

They received this photo from a train and it makes sense that Apple would be testing on this type of environment, as this would do a lot of cell tower transferring. While the shot isn’t super clear, it definitely doesn’t look like any current iOS device. The tipster top 9to5:

“Almost EVO-like” in screen size, this iPhone also appears thinner than the current iPhone 4 but also wider. The edges are rounded metal like the edges of a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 but could still function as an antenna. The back is a curved/tapered glass or plastic. He couldn’t tell but if he had to guess he’d say glass. He said it looked too amazing to be built by anyone besides Apple (fanboy!).

If this is really the next iPhone (and that’s a big “if”), it would fit some of the rumors that the next Apple smartphone would have a larger screen. Apple normally tests its upcoming phones in the wild but it goes through great pains to keep it out of view, so it can hide things in cases. The last iPhone was leaked months before it was officially announced and it being tested in the wild with a modified case may have made Apple miss some of the “Antennagate” issues.

What do you think friends? Is this the iPhone 5? What do you think of the design?

Simple and easy to use it works like this, the application will take a photo from your phone camera every 12-15 seconds and will post it to a local webpage that other computers can access from the same network.

All you will need to set this up and keep it working for you is your iPhone which of course should be set onto wifi, then make a note of the special HTTP address that you are given, your application will then keep on running until you decide to turn it off or more likely that you receive a phone call. However like all good apple products it should set up and start all over again you will not need to do a thing.

Aside from the security issue which makes this an ideal application to have in your home there is also a fun factor, you could capture co workers and family during office breaks and generally use it for some good classic of camera fun which is always a win with people. Be sure to keep it on all the time when using it for security in your home and think of all the money you will save on top notch equipment that matches this, you can purchase the IP camera now for the small price of 1.99.

Offender Locator – A must have

Posted by elaine under iPhone Apps, iPhones, iPods on Wednesday Sep 30, 2009

Every family has many worries, most however belong to couples with children. The fear for their safety is always on their mind and now more than ever its good to know that they are protected. Neighborhood watch societies can only do so much but now once again Apple has come to your rescue with Offender Locator, what this genius application does is tracks registered sex offenders who live near your current location by using the GPS.

Designed to protect you and your children you can now solve your biggest worries with the touch of a button, what happens next is the GPS locates if any offenders are near your current area, then you can manually look up a specific address or check your address book and see if any live near your current contacts. If there does happen to be offenders located nearby it will then display a photo and information of the offense they committed.

The display which is a large map with green and red bubbles is easy to use and find your way around, the red would be like a warning sign to where the offenders may be located. You can then scroll around the map and even zoom into desired locations. This is one application that is a must have for pretty much everyone to keep a close eye on what exactly goes on around your neighborhood, there is nothing wrong with having suspicious thoughts now and then and its clear that even Apple agrees. Offender locator is available for purchase now and can be used with the iPod and iPhone!
